AM (max of 50cc, i.e. moped) – From 16 years old with L plates, CBT required (compulsory basic training)
A1 (max of 125cc) – From 17 years old with L plates, CBT required (compulsory basic training)
A2 (max of 47bhp)- From 19 years old, theory & practical test
A (Unlimited) – From 21 years old (if upgrading from an A2 held for at least 2 years) OR from 24 years old (direct with no previous experience required), theory & practical test
